Originally featured on Shark Tank, Chi’Lantro started in 2010 as a food truck and a vision to inspire the way people eat and think about Korean BBQ. Chi’Lantro’s goal is to be the leading Korean Tex-Mex brand in Texas!

The name “Chi’Lantro” is a combination of the words “kimchi” and “cilantro.” World famous, the Original Kimchi Fries – hot French fries with homemade caramelized kimchi, Korean BBQ, topped with fresh herbs, sesame seeds, and homemade sauce – is one of Chi’Lantro’s staple items, and served over 200,000 times a year!

Jae Kim started his humble adventure by maxing out his credit cards and taking out his total savings of $30,000 to pursue his dream of running a Korean Tex-Mex fusion food truck business. He’s been featured in Food and Wine, on the Cooking Channel, and on the Food Network with his creation, The Original Kimchi Fries, and in 2017, he won a deal with Barbara Corcoran on ABC’s Shark Tank.

Since its conception in 2010, Chi’lantro has won many awards for flavor innovations and is nationally recognized as the home of The Original Kimchi Fries. Chi’lantro’s involvement in each community surrounding its 13 locations across Texas is proof that fusing cultural flavor is not only delicious, but also brings together diverse groups!
